A most delicate watercolour of a large white butterfly at rest
on roses. The butterfly is almost three dimensional heightened with
ridges of bodycolour not apparent in the photography.Signed in the
brown shading below the rose leaf.
Jsephine Haswell Miller (nee Cameron) (1890-1975)
Mixed Blooms
Very much in the manner of the Glasgow School still life
painter Stuart Park - vibrant and in a 1970s type wooden and painted
frame. To the reverse a Royal Scottish Academy exhibition label via
James Bourlay London and in existence with the vendor a catalogue that
the painting was exhibited in the RPS. Also to reverse with her, at the
time, studio address of Yew Tree Cottage, Kington Magna, Gillingham,
Dorset.
Eugene Henri Cauchois (1850-1911)
Still Life of Chrysanths
A small and gentle example of the work of this quite prolific and well
respected French flower painter. I'm sure someone will help with a
better title if our botanical knowledge has fallen short. Signed.
